On July 2nd, 2026, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van received and held talks with Yanet Vazquez Valdes, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba. From June 29th to 30th, 2026, the inter-ministerial working group of the Vietnamese Sub-committee of the Vietnam-China Joint Committee on Railway Cooperation, led by Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy, Chairman of the Sub-committee, attended the 2nd Session in Beijing, China.

On June 24th, 2026, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan received Ms. Hilde Solbakken, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Vietnam, who paid a farewell visit upon the completion of her term in Vietnam.

On June 22nd, 2026, in Hanoi, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh met and worked with Mr. Jim Nickel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Vietnam, to discuss the direction of strengthening cooperation in the fields of transport infrastructure development, sustainable urban development, climate change response, and promoting cooperation between the two sides.

From June 9-12, 2026, in Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan), a delegation from the Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy, attended the 53rd Session of the Ministerial Conference of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD). The delegation included Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railways Corporation.

Thirteen organisations and property developers have pledged to build nearly 100,000 rental social housing units in HCM City in a move that aims to tackle a housing shortage that has left many workers and low-income residents priced out of the property market.

Việt Nam’s real estate market is facing a major imbalance, with an oversupply of high-end properties while affordable housing remains in short supply. The market structure continues to favour home sales over rental housing.

From May 21st to May 29th, 2026, an inter-ministerial working group led by Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van, along with the participation of the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Tran Van Khai, representatives from the Government Office, the Ministry of Justice, and specialized departments and divisions of the Ministry of Construction, visited and worked in China and the Russian Federation to study and exchange international experience on planning and architectural management, serving the purpose of amending the Architecture Law and improving the institutional framework of the Vietnamese construction industry.

On May 29th, 2026, a bilateral meeting took place in Hanoi between the Minister of Construction of Vietnam, Tran Hong Minh, and the Minister of Public Works and Transport of Laos, Leklay Sivilay, to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and promote the implementation of strategic transportation and infrastructure projects between the two countries. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Laos to Vietnam and leaders of units from both Ministries attended the meeting.

Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan met and worked with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland in charge of International Trade, Jarno Syrjala, and a delegation of Finnish businesses to exchange views and promote cooperation in the fields of transportation infrastructure, smart cities, green construction, and digital transformation, on May 29th, 2026, in Hanoi. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Vietnam, Pekka Voutilainen, and leaders from various units of the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland attended the meeting.
