On 22nd October, 2013, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Construction (MOC), Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting and working with the delegation of UN - Habitat and the Institute for Global Green Growth South Korea (GGGI) which lead by Mr. Mattia Romani-Deputy Director of GGGI.
At the meeting , Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi introduced to GGGI & UN- Habitat about the functions and responsibilities of the MOC and specific activities of the MOC in green growth, sustainable development. In the near future, Vietnam will have to implement a lot of works related to green growth. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction wishes for cooperation opportunities with GGGI & UN-Habitat to build institutions and policies as well as specific activities related to green programs.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Mattia Romani expressed his thanks for the welcome and introduction of the Deputy Minister. GGGI has officially become an international organization since October, 2012. It is known that in the coming time, the MOC will implement the urban development strategy towards green growth and therefore GGGI is ready to share experiences, ideas about the green growth with MOC. GGGI and UN-Habitat hopefully will cooperate closely in the programs of urban development strategies of Vietnam and coordinate activities with the goals of green growth in the construction.
