HàNội needs around US $10 billion within 2011-2015 period for itsinfrastructure development, said Director of the city’s TransportationDepartment Nguyễn Quốc Hùng.
Accordingly, the city will call on official development assistance (ODA), issue bonds, encourage BT, BOT investment contracts, and reserve land for infrastructure development.
Mr. Hùng said that Hà Nội will prioritize significant transport projects, including the complement of flyovers in the belt roads No. 2 and 3, expansion of 1A National Highway, Thăng Long axis and Hoàng Quốc Việt road.
In addition, the city will develop important urban axes and suburban roads, upgrade national highways and roads in inner city, and construct car parks.
Additionally, the city will continue to pour more investment in public transport by developing bus lanes in crowded roads./.
