At the National Achievements Exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the “Aspiration for the Sky” sub-area, with its unique experiences, offered visitors unforgettable impressions, highlighting the distinctive mark of the Ministry of Construction, including the transport sector at the exhibition. The fact that the exhibition opened exactly on the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Transport Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) further enhanced the exhibition zone’s sense of pride and significance.

With an area of approximately 10,000 m², the “Aspiration for the Sky” sub-area showcases the achievements of Vietnam’s civil aviation sector throughout its history of formation and development. Here, the Ministry of Construction displays four actual aircraft models, each representing a distinct stage in the development of the aviation industry, leading toward the aspiration of establishing an aviation industry of Vietnam.

A highlight of this exhibition area is the IL-14 aircraft with registration number VN-C482. This was the first IL-14 aircraft of Transport Air Force Regiment 919 (the predecessor of today’s 919 Flight Crew), presented by the Soviet Government to President Ho Chi Minh in 1957 and put into operation in 1958. The IL-14 fleet fulfilled its historic mission and stopped flying in 1981.

The platform exhibition space within the sub-area is designed in the shape of the Lạc bird, an artistic symbol rich in historical and cultural significance, expressing the national identity of Vietnam. The posture of spreading wings and flying to the sky, is an expression of the dream of rising, the desire for freedom and connecting Heaven and Earth. This design concept also serves as the architectural inspiration for the terminal of Phu Quoc International Airport - a national key project that will serve the APEC 2027 High-Level Week, an important diplomatic event showcasing Vietnam’s image and stature in the new era.

In the exhibition space at the "Aspiration for the Sky" sub-area, there are 10 aviation businesses participating, represented as a service chain at an airport (from check-in, security control, aircraft gates and public service spaces at the terminal...).

Visitors can complete check-in procedures to receive a “Soaring with the Nation” ticket, symbolizing the realization of their “Aspiration for the Sky” experience at the exhibition.

The Vietnam Airlines exhibition space within the “Aspiration for the Sky” sub-area is designed as an immersive flight experience, recreating the 30-year journey of formation and development of Vietnam’s national flag carrier. The display area is organized around five key milestones in the airline’s growth: History and the aspiration to conquer the sky; Ground service ecosystem and efforts toward green development; In-flight services and the team of pilots and cabin crew; Modern fleet, digital transformation, simulation and virtual reality technologies; Global flight network.

The Vietnam Airlines booth attracts a large number of visitors with a lively atmosphere offering several exciting aviation experiences, from flight simulators and virtual reality passenger cabins to business lounges.

The first Airbus A320/321 simulator cockpit in the North is a testament to the application of modern technology in training human resources for the Vietnamese aviation industry. Currently, Vietnam Airlines Flight Training Center in Ho Chi Minh City is operating a simulator cockpit system for many modern aircraft types such as Airbus A320, A321, A350 and Boeing 787. These devices serve the training and education of pilots according to international standards, contributing to the building of a high-quality workforce for the Vietnamese aviation industry.
