By 2020, Hanoi would have 10-11 m2 of green space per capita

That`s the latest target of the city with the aim to reduce pollution.

Director of Hanoi Construction Department Le Van Duc put in at the online meeting of Hanoi’s People Committee on July 28.

Duc said,it was the priority of the municipal authority to replace, plan new trees, with the aim to ease sound pollution and smog.

In detail, the Department is actively collaborating with Hanoi Green tree Limited Company and related bodies to fulfill the one-million-green-tree program for Hanoi.
Along with that, the authority is step-by-step replacing bonsai, greensward… with shade trees to broaden green zone; put it first to plan new green trees at main routes to reduce sound pollution and smog; target to level up the green space of Hanoi from currently 7m2/capita to 10-11m2/capita by 2020.

Besides, Hanoi Construction Department also call for fund from private business to pour in clean water supply project for Hanoi countryside.

At the moment, about 20 concentration projects of supplying clean water; 17 projects distributing water for 220 communes, towns in 16 Hanoi’s prefectures.

The department also set target to reduce the rate of loss water amount (currently at 21%) to 15% by 2020. In additional, the Hanoi authority aims to remove sewage completely from lakes by 2020, improve the water quality, lake’s landscape to ensure the city beauty and habitat.
