Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Party Committee Dinh La Thang on August 14 attended a launching ceremony for the ‘All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilised urban areas’ drive for the 2016-2020 period in An Nhon Tay commune, Cu Chi district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Thang called upon the whole Party committee, administration and people in the city to promote the patriotic tradition and further emulation of role models to successfully fulfil socio-economic development tasks.
Each cadre and public servant of the city should set a good example for others in carrying out the campaign in a practical and effective manner, he added.
The drive is the core activity of the city in the new period, which inherits and builds on the outcomes of earlier movements, including the ‘All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas’, and ‘All people join hands to build new – style rural areas’ campaigns, he noted.
The Secretary also underscored that attention would be paid to stepping up the building of new-style rural areas as well as the building of cultural life in residential areas, and intensifying the implementation of programmes on education, science-technology, health and social welfare.
The same day, the campaign was also launched simultaneously in 23 other districts of Ho Chi Minh City.
