Thai Nguyen province should carefully consider investment for infrastructure while building new-style rural areas in order to avoid capital debt as many other localities have experienced.

The statement was made by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh while meeting with voters in Pho Yen town, the northern province of Thai Nguyen to inform them of outcomes of the first session of the 14th National Assembly.
At the meeting, many voters applauded the results of the election of deputies to the 14th NA and all-level People's Council for the 2016-2021 tenure.
They also voiced their concerns over numerous issues including policies for veterans who fought in regions infected by toxic chemicals sprayed by the US military and revolutionary contributors, and improving the quality of building new-style rural areas as well as adding offices of deputy chairmen of People’s Committees at commune and ward levels.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM Minh appreciated achievements in socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen province, particularly Pho Yen town, during the first six months of this year.
He affirmed that the Party and State have always been consistent in protecting the country’s sovereignty, particularly over the seas and islands. Vietnam has sufficient historical and legal evidence to affirm its sovereignty over the areas, the Deputy PM noted.
Regarding the recent marine environmental incident cause by the Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation, Deputy PM Minh emphasised that the Government has actively directed relevant ministries and branches to identify the cause and set out remedial measures, supporting local fishermen to stabilise their lives.
The Deputy PM also listened to and answered issues related to policies for national contributors in addition to the organisational structure of communes and wards.
