Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction) has just announced that at 8:00 a.m. on August 28th, the Vung Ang-Bung Expressway was opened, officially putting into operation connecting the entire route through the Central region. Particularly for Quang Tri province, the opening of this route helps shorten the connection time between the locality and the capital Hanoi.

The opening of the Vung Ang-Bung Expressway will facilitate traffic through the Central region quickly.
Before the opening, contractors and supervision consultants have inspected the entire route, removed obstacles, and ensured safety for people and vehicles.
The State Inspection Council for Construction Acceptance has inspected and evaluated the basic items to meet operational requirements.
According to Project Management Board 6, the North-South Expressway project in the east, the Vung Ang-Bung section, has a length of 55.34km, of which the section through Ha Tinh is 12.9km long, the section through Quang Tri (old Quang Binh) is 42.44km, and was started in January 2023 with a total investment of VND 12,548 billion.
The route starts at Ky Hoa commune (Ha Tinh), ends at Bo Trach commune (Quang Tri), connecting with the Bung-Van Ninh expressway project to the south. There are two interchanges on the route, both in Quang Tri province, including: Tien Chau-Van Hoa (Km597+900) and National Highway 12A (Km605+500).
The operation of this expressway contributes to shortening the journey from Hanoi to Quang Tri, facilitating trade in the North Central region, promoting socio-economic development in the region and Quang Tri province.
