Hue completes elimination of makeshift and dilapidated housing in 2025

Hue City has achieved its targets of eliminating makeshift and dilapidated housing in 2025, as announced at a conference held by the People’s Committee of Hue City on August 25.

Collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of the programme are commended by the city’s People’s Committee.

According to the report, Hue fully achieved its targets set out for 2025: 503 houses for people with meritorious service were completed (210 newly built, 293 repaired) with a budget of more than 21 billion VND (991,800 USD); 325 houses under the national target programme for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the former A Luoi District were completed 100%; and families classified as poor, near-poor, or facing particularly difficult circumstances were supported with 358 houses (77 newly built, 281 repaired) at a cost of over 13 billion VND (613,900 USD).

The support mechanism was unified: households building new homes received 60 million VND (2,830 USD), while those conducting repairs received 30 million VND (1,415 USD). In addition, poor and near-poor households received supplementary assistance from the city’s Fatherland Front.

Speaking at the conference, Le Truong Luu, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, emphasised that the programme’s success stemmed from the solidarity of the political system and the people.

On the occasion, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of the programme were commended by the city’s People’s Committee.
