According to Vietnam Airlines, the airline has received requests and instructions from the aircraft manufacturer Airbus and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam regarding software updates for Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. To ensure operational safety, the entire fleet must complete the update according to the software package provided by Airbus before 6:59 a.m. on November 30th, Vietnam time (ie 11:59 p.m. on November 29th, UTC time).

Immediately after receiving the information, Vietnam Airlines promptly checked and implemented the update plan at technical facilities in Noi Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat. The airline currently has full tools, instructions and update software provided by Airbus; the work has been underway since last night, early morning of November 29th. The expected implementation time is about one hour on average for each aircraft.
Vietnam Airlines affirmed that it will complete all updates ahead the deadline and fully meet the safety requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and Airbus. The operations of Vietnam Airlines Group on November 29th and from November 30th onward are proceeding normally and are unaffected.
