Vietbuild 2015 expo set to kick off in Hanoi(09/11/2015)

In excess of 400 exhibitors have registered to participate in the construction industry – Vietbuild 2015 – expo set to kick off November 11 in Hanoi, according to the organizing board.

  • On November 5, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with their Iceland counterparts organized a seminar in Hanoi addressing future cooperation in clean energy.
  • Low-income families have inferior housing, and new policies are needed to deal with the issue, heard a conference in Hanoi on November 5.According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) , only 20 percent of workers have proper accommodation. Some 80 percent of workers in industrial zones are exposed to makeshift shelters, where normally two or three people share a square metre. These workers also lack access to recreational activities.
  • Vietnam’s industrial parks, offices, residential areas, and resorts are expected to benefit the most in the real estate sector when the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement comes into force.
  • Green technology and eco-friendly materials was theme of a seminar held in Hanoi on November 5, which formed part of activities in response to the Vietnam Urban Green Growth Week and Vietnam Urban Day (November 8).
  • Vietnamese and German authorities held a conference in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on November 1 to launch their co-operative efforts in the water sector. Conference attendees discussed co-operation between the German Society for International Co-operation (GIZ), the German Water Partnership (GWP) and the Germany – Vietnam Partnership Project for Competence Development of Vietnam’s Water Sector (DEVIWAS) to connect the countries’ water sectors.
  • US businesses have presented an antidumping and counterveiling duty petition to the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) against circular welded carbon steel pipes (CWP) imported from five countries, including Vietnam.
  • Vietnamese shares rebounded on October 22, boosted higher by real estate firms as investors eyed solid third-quarter earnings prospects of these companies. On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose 0.8 percent to close the session at 595.1 points. The Index decreased 0.7 percent over the previous two sessions.
  • Aside from garments, aquaculture and agriculture, the property-related sectors like industrial parks, warehouses and logistics will enjoy the positive effects of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, which was reached by 12 member states on October 5, said experts from CBRE Group, the world’s largest commercial real estate service firm.
  • As a water- scarce country, Viet Nam always respects and takes action to ensure water security in favor of sustainable development; proactively manage, exploit, and protect water resources; and respond to climate change, affirmed Deputy PM Hai.
