Closing ceremony of the 31st session of Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernment Commission

Hanoi (September 19th, 2013) – The closing ceremony of the 31st session of Vietnam-Cuba intergovernment Commission on cooperation on commerce, economy, science technology and culture - education hosted by Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung, Minister of Vietnam Ministry of Construction, and Mr. Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, Minister of Cuba Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investmen, took place at the MOC’s head office.

IAt the closing ceremony, Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, co-president of Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernment Commission, said during 3 days of working hard, Vietnam and Cuba reviewed the implementation of the 30th session’s minutes, focusing on achievements both sides got and problems both sides faced, pointing out causes and proposing solutions. In addition, two countries’ mission discussed and identified feasible cooperation fields in 2013-2014 as well as potential cooperation activities in the Program of medium-term bilateral economic agenda.

Minister Dung confirmed those results got during this 31st session presented effort of both sides’ ministries and enterprises to boost bilateral cooperation in terms of commerce, economy, science technology, culture and education to to provide effective and practical benefits for both sides, which is commensurate to the long lasting special traditional relationship between two States, Parties and peoples. The Minutes signed by two countries during this 31st Session of Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernment Commission is considered as the legal basis to effectively implement cooperative programs and projects.

Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, co-president of Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernment Commission, believed those contents agreed mutually during this 31st meeting would effectively enhance bilateral cooperation in terms of commerce, economy, science technology… Among those, the draft of Program of medium-term bilateral economic agenda was the most outstanding achievements, which enabled two countries to find out cooperative opportunities and projects to make cooperation plan of 1 year, 3 years, 5 years and more, said Minister Diaz.

Minister Diaz also thanked Vietnamese State and Party for solemnly performing the ceremony of 40 years after President Fidel Castro had visited Quang Binh and Quang Tri province first time (September 19th, 2013).

At the end of the closing ceremony, Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz signed the Minutes, and witnessed VIAP (MOC) and Cuba Institute of Objects Planning.
