Time for verifying new urban construction projects to be shortened

Thetime for processing documents of new urban construction projects (withminimum area of 200 hectares each) will be shortened to 60 days from thecurrent 90.

The time for the same kind of projects with the maximum area of 200 hectares each will be 45 days instead of the current 60.
The above regulations are part of the Government’s recently-issued Resolution 55/NQ-CP to streamline administrative procedures in the construction sector.
Project owners can submit documents to the Management Boards of New Urban Areas or provincial-level Construction Departments (in case the management boards are not established).
For projects of at least 200 hectares, the Management Boards or Departments will function as coordinators to collect local authorities and relevant ministries’ ideas and submit a summary to the PM for approval.
The Management Boards or Departments will ask provincial-level People’s Committees for approval of projects with maximum areas of 200 hectares.
Each project owner has to submit just one set of documents, according to the Resolution. Required papers are also stipulated clearly in the Resolution.
