At the working session, Prof. Morita gave congratulations to Minister Ha who was pointed as Minister of Construction in 2016 - 2020 tenure by Vietnam Communist Party, Government and National Assembly. He also thanked Minister Ha for his rightly and timely direction in previous meetings, which helped Japanese delegation to effectively coordinate with units under the MoC to speed up related works.

According to cooperation program mutually agreed by MoC and MLIT, the MLIT supported the MoC to prepare technical document covering technical standards and estimated norms of pipe jacking technology applied in Vietnam. So far, this document has been completed in helping Vietnam to consult, select, and apply to design, construction, supervision and examination of underground infrastructure in general and drainage infrastructure in particular.

In addition, the MLIT supported the MoC to make norms and standards in unit price estimating in the field of construction.

Vietnam has been undergoing strong development of urbanization and industrialization, Mr Ha said. Hence, the MoC specially interested in seperating domestic waste from surface and rain water in draignage system. Minister Ha desired the MLIT to further support Vietnam in studying and giving effective measures to deal with the problem.

Minister Ha highly appreciated the MLIT in transfering pipe jacking technology to Vietnam, and wished the MILT to continually support the MoC in completing the norms and standards relating to unit price estimating as well as other sectors of construction.
