Vietnam importedmore than 4 million tonnes of steel in the past seven months of 2011, up9 percent compared to the same period last year.
In the reviewed period, the country exported approximately 940,000 tonnes of steel worth US$881 million.
Despite a year-on-year increase of 44.2 percent, Vietnam’s steel import surplus remained high, at almost US$2.65 billion.
