Nam Sông Hậu route opened to traffic

The 147-km Nam Sông Hậu (South Hậu River) road linking four Southwestern localities was opened to traffic on Wednesday.
The route is expected to better the transport network in the Southwestern region and assist socio-economic development, security and national defense in the Mekong Delta.
The important road, with the construction cost of VND 3,296 billion, goes through Cần Thơ city and three provinces of Hậu Giang, Sóc Trăng and Bạc Liêu.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Permanent Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng said that new route would create favorable conditions for the development of industry, agriculture, and tourism in the Southwestern region.
He also praised the effort of the Ministry of Construction, Mỹ Thuận project management board, as well as local residents for their contribution to the building of the important route./.
