Quy Nhon city urged to inherit local tradition

Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam has asked the central city of Quy Nhon to inherit local cultural and educational tradition and base on scientific grounds in urban planning.

Deputy PM made the statement at a ceremony announcing an adjusted master plan on building QuyNhon city and surrounding areas to 2035 with a vision to 2050 in Binh Dinh province on July 20.

He affirmed the essential need of urbanization to all countries, saying that successful countries have understood the importance and principles in urban development planning with consideration to socio-economic restructuring, population and labor in urbanized and surrounding areas.

Urban planning should be attached to improved business climate, administrative reforms and investment attraction and implemented by residents and the community, Deputy PM Dam said.

He urged Binh Dinh province to give clear explanations to people from all walks of life and implement effectively social welfare policies for project-affected residents.

According to Decision No.495/QD-TTg dated April 14, 2015 by the PM on approving adjustments to the master plan on building Quy Nhon city and its surrounding areas to 2035 with a vision to 2050, Quy Nhon city will become a national maritime economic center developing services, ports, industry and tourism. As of 2050, the city will play an important role in the country’s urban system and Southeast Asia region with developed tourism, services, ports and industry.
