The project worth VND 171.1 billion includes a planetarium, a science museum, and an astronomical observatory.

This is the first public scientific space complex in Viet Nam that will help inspire science passion among locals, especially young people, said Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy PM highlighted the role of science and technology in the national development.

To escape from the middle-income trap, Viet Nam has to maintain high economic growth rate for years as well as encourage creativity and enthusiasm, nourish potentials and accelerate science and technology application, he said.

He expected that the complex will become an inspiration and force not only for youth in Binh Dinh Province but for those nationwide.

Science and technology researches and application will bring benefits for manufacturing and administration, he said, adding that with the complex the province will become the destination for international and domestic scientists.

The project, located on an area of 12,659 square meters, will be completed by 2017./.
