As many as 500 delegates gathered on April 1 for an annual meeting hosted by Vietnam Real Estate Association (VNREA) in Quy Nhon city, the central coastal province of Binh Dinh.

The annual meeting gives a good chance to property developers to meet policy makers and share experience in the field with leading experts and foreign associations.

In addion to the official meeting, the association's executive board also convened a plenary session to approve its 2017 action plan and witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVRA).

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Pham Khanh said as of the end of the first quarter this year, roughly US$4 billion was poured into property developments, noting that the ministry has considered the association's recommendations to refine relevant legal documents thereby providing a favourable and transparent environment for the real estate market.

VNREA Chairman Nguyen Tran Nam stated that the real estate market is growing steadily with increasing foreign direct investment and improved liquidity, adding that the association is looking to join relevant professional organisations on the global scale as well as host the World Real Estate Congress in the country which will help enable Vietnam to popularise its property market, tourism and the people to international friends.
