Tam Ky should pay attention to urban construction and planning management, striving to develop into an increasingly civilized, modern, green, clean and beautiful city and create better living environments for local people.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the statement at a ceremony held by the Party organisation, authorities and people of central Quang Nam province’s Tam Ky city on August 24 to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Tam Ky prefecture (1906-2016), receive the Independence Order, third class, and get the PM’s decision recognizing Tam Ky as a second-class city.
He asked Tam Ky to focus on upgrading urban infrastructure, preserving the urban environmental hygiene, ensuring provision of clean water for locals, and conserving and promoting the values of historical and cultural relics, particularly the Ky Anh Tunnel relic site.
The city also needs to boost trade promotion activities; expand industrial zones and clusters across the locality to create more jobs for local labourers; and take advantage of the Tam Thanh Beach to facilitate tourism, the government leader said.
He suggested building the Tam Thang industrial zone into a high-tech industrial center functioning as an industrial locomotive for the city, and developing agricultural production oriented towards the model of urban agriculture.
The PM encouraged Tam Ky to build the urban civilized lifestyle, associate socio-economic development with environmental protection and improvement of people’s material and spiritual life, and care about the lives of national contributors, policy beneficiaries and other vulnerable groups.
The city was also requested to continue implementing effectively the Party Central Committee 4th Plenum, 11th tenure Resolution on Party building and the Politburo’s Directive No. 05 on enhancing the studying and following of ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh, towards building a people-oriented political system of integrity and drastic actions.
On the same day, PM Phuc visited and presented gifts to revolutionary contributors in Tam Ky city.
