PM Nguyen Tan Dung has signed a decision to upgrade Thu Dau Mot city in the southern province of Binh Duong as a second-grade city.
Earlier, Thu Dau Mot was recognized as a third-grade city in 2007.
Since then, the city has witnessed changes and played an important role as an urban centre in the Southern region as well as an administrative hub of Binh Duong province.
The local economic structure has developed vigorously. In addition, the locality also witnessed robust development in the areas of industry, trade, service, and infrastructure.
The new recognition is expected to pave the favourable way for Thu Dau Mot to tap potentials in order to become a modern and first-grade city in the coming time./.
