Minister Pham Hong Ha receives the World Bank's East Asia-Pacific Sustainable Development Director Benoit Bosquets

Minister Pham Hong Ha had a meeting with the World Bank (WB)’s working group led by Mr. Benoit Bosquets - Director of the Sustainable Development of the East Asia – Pacific region on December 10th. There were leaders of Departments and Agencies under the MoC at the meeting.

Minister Pham Hong Ha thanked Mr Benoit Bosquets, Mr Ousmane Dione – WB’s Country Director in Vietnam and WB’s partners for paying attention and giving the Ministry of Construction a working session to discuss on issues of mutual interest.

At the meeting, Minister Pham Hong Ha affirmed the practical significance of the safe water supply project in the Mekong Delta which is being prepared by the two sides. Minister Pham Hong Ha said that the MoC would sooner complete the schedule agreed with the WB to submit to the Prime Minister for approving. At the moment, provinces have confirmed the scope of the project. The Ministry of Construction was also reviewing the opinions of experts as well as coordinating with the ministries and agencies to finalize the report. The Minister hoped that the WB would continue to support Vietnam in implementing the Project and expressed his belief that after overcoming difficulties in the preparation stage, the project would be implemented quickly and smoothly during the implementation process.
 

The whole working session

Two sides also discussed a number of ongoing cooperation projects such as the project of water supply and urban wastewater treatment; Urban development projects in the Northern mountain areas; projects of supporting the development of urban development management institutions; cooperation opportunities in the field of water pollution prevention and climate change response.
