Deputy Minister Bui Pham Khanh had a meeting with Mr. Zoltan Zahonyi, Chairman of the Contract Committee - International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). There were representatives of the Departments and Agencies under MoC, Vietnam Association of Construction Consultants at the meeting.

International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) was founded in 1913 by French, Belgian and Swiss engineers. Up to now, FDIC has 102 Associations of Consulting Engineers which are members of 102 countries, with a vision to develop a sustainable world and a global voice for the consulting industry.
The main types of FIDIC construction contracts include: Simplified Contract Form/ Dredging Contract; Construction Contract; Contract of construction equipment and design - construction; EPC contract/Turnkey Contract; Contract of Design, construction and operation; Contract conditions for underground works. Advantages of these types of Contracts are: Clear and coherent; fair and reasonable; prepared by a third party; complete, highly flexible; widely recognized all over the world.
Currently, many multilateral and bilateral banks have recognized and used FIDIC Agreement and Contract Forms as part of the Standard Bidding Documents in the projects funded by these organizations.
Deputy Minister Bui Pham Khanh and Mr. Zoltan Zahonyi exchanged many contents relating to the main types of FIDIC contracts and the possibility of applying to Vietnam, especially the EPC contract / turnkey contract and Contract for Design, Construction and Operation.
“Chairman of FIDIC Contract Committee Zoltan Zahonyi’s ideas contributed to raising awareness and experience for officials and experts of the Vietnam Ministry of Construction in carrying out works regarding construction contracts”, said Deputy Minister Bui Pham Khanh.
