Implementing Government’s Decision No 1961
Hanoi, (May 30th 2016), the Conference to implement Decision No 1961 2016 – 2020 period and the training course on increasing construction management and urban development capacity under Decision No 1961 for Chairman and Vice Chairman from cities and provinces in the Southern region took placein Can tho, with the attendance of Deputy Minister of Construction Do Duc Duy, leaders of the cities and provinces in the Southern region, representatives from Central Organizing Committee’s departments and agencies, Ministries of Interior, Finance, Planning and Investment, International Organizations such as UN Habitat, World Urban Alliance, Vietnam USAID members.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Minister Duy expressed that after nearly 5 years seriously implementing the Decision No 1961, the MOC tried to have 100% of the urban specialized leaders at all levels toward 2020.
Mrs Vo Thi Hong Anh – Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho’s People Committee expressed the need to increase local staffs’ capacity through the training course. From reality, staffs shared experiences to more effectively help their localities. For stressing the vital role of MoC for the development the urban areas of Vietnam, Mrs Anh supposed that MoC would have more courses with the practical contents that help the urban planning and management in localities more efficient.

Mr Tran Huu Ha – Director of the Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities (AMC), - Deputy Chief of the Decision confirmed the results that already achieved by the Decision including the Academy was assigned the Decision implement agency; the organization of courses across the country (more than 162 courses with 5616 turns of trainees).
In the same day, MoC and AMC held a training course on the construction management and urban development under Decision No 1961 for the second objects who were Chairmans and Vice Chairmans of the cities and provinces in the Southern region.
