On behalf of MOC’s leaders, Deputy Minister Duy warmly welcomed Mr Dhep Vongvanick and his colleague’s visit and work trip at the MOC.
Expressing his gratitude for the warmly welcome of Deputy Minister Duy, Mr. Dhep Vongvanick shared, “SCG is the leading industry group and also a largest manufacturer of cement and construction materials in Thailand, with 102 years of development and business history on the core areas as cement, construction materials, chemical and packaging”. Until now, SCG has had 270 affiliates and joint ventures with a total of fifty two thousands employees worldwide. The Group has been operating in Vietnam for over 20 years and has received the MOC’s supports and concerns as much as possible. Therefore, SCG wanted to be a Vietnam’s good partner and paid much attention for sustainable development, environment protection as well as facilitating employment for local people in Vietnam.
For his part, Deputy Minister Duy said that “ MOC was strongly impressive with the Group’s sales at $ 15 billion in 2015, among that Asia accounted for $ 2.5 billion”. During operating period in Vietnam, SCG has chosen to invest in some good brand and high market share enterprises. This showed that SCG had a long-term investment strategy and considered Vietnam as a great potential market, while demonstrating the SCG’s trust for luring investment policy and the stability of the macro - economy of Vietnam.
MOC highly appreciated the SCG’s supports in cooperating with Vietnam enterprises and government agencies. SCG was one of the typical business model in consistent with economic conditions as well as business custom in Asian countries, including Vietnam. MOC hoped SCG would continue support construction enterprises, especially in the field of construction materials.
In the coming time, MOC is willing to support investors in general and SCG in particular.
