On December 16th, a working delegation from the Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha, inspected the site and urged units to continue their efforts to complete the remaining construction items as well as finalize procedures to put the main route into operation on December 19th for the component projects of the Can Tho-Hau Giang section and the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section (Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway) under the North-South Expressway Eastern Section project for the 2021-2025 period.

Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha requested the My Thuan Project Management Board and contractors to implement the remaining asphalt concrete and traffic safety system items so that the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway can be inaugurated and opened for technical traffic on December 19th.
During the site inspection, Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha requested that the My Thuan Project Management Board and contractors make extraordinary efforts in organizing and executing the work, continue working overtime and in multiple shifts, and supplement manpower, equipment, and construction teams to complete the remaining asphalt concrete sections and traffic safety systems so that the Can Tho - Hau Giang - Ca Mau project can be inaugurated and opened to technical traffic on December 19th. At the same time, they should accelerate the completion of project finalization documents in accordance with regulations.
In addition, the Deputy Minister directed the My Thuan Project Management Board to continue coordinating with the Department for Roads of Vietnam (Ministry of Construction) to finalize the traffic organization plan; review and install directional signs and temporary traffic safety systems at interchanges not yet in operation, completing this work by December 18th to ensure traffic safety when the route is opened for use.
Previously, according to a report from the My Thuan Project Management Board, by December 17th, the Can Tho - Hau Giang component project was expected to complete asphalt paving, installation of expansion joints, lighting systems, and traffic safety systems.
For the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section, despite being affected by unfavorable weather in 2025 and facing difficulties in material supply, thanks to the efforts of the construction units, by the end of December 19th, the Hau Giang - Ca Mau project will be ready for technical traffic operation.
By the end of December 25th, the main route will complete asphalt paving and finalize the traffic safety system, ensuring all conditions are met for opening before the New Year.
Regarding the investment in rest stops for the two component projects, the investor is currently focusing on site preparation, constructing timbẻ piles, and leveling the ground for entry and exit areas, parking lots, and restroom facilities.
