The Department of Technical Infrastructure worked with the Korea Infrastructure and Technology Advancement Agency under the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MoLIT) to pilot biomass energy and discuss cooperation plans and prepare to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in strengthen cooperation between two sides.

Mr. Park Rae Sang said, KAIA is an agency under MoLIT specializing in designing projects in the fields of infrastructure, architecture, smart city, transportation, and biomass technology. Currently, KAIA is cooperating with a number of localities in Vietnam in applying biomass technology, making use of waste (bagasse) to produce energy.

Mr. Park Rae Sang hopes that in the near future KAIA will strengthen cooperation with the Department of Technical Infrastructure, especially in research and development of biomass technology, and training of experts.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues, especially focusing on the preparation for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and plans in coming time. According to Director Mai Thi Lien Huong, in the proposal for cooperation content, KAIA needs to give priority contents to be deployed first, focus on the areas that Vietnam is very interested in such as water supply and drainage, wastewater treatment , developing urban infrastructure, training experts.
