Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh receives General Director of Siam City Cement Group

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh received and worked with General Director of Siam City Cement Group (Thailand) Aidan John Lynam on May 19th.

At the meeting, General Director of Aidan John Lynam expressed his pleasure to visit and work with the Ministry of Construction, and informed Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh of outstanding results in production and business activities of Siam City Cement Group in general and Siam City Cement Vietnam Co., Ltd (INSEE Vietnam) in particular.

General Director of Siam City Cement Group Aidan John Lynam expressed that over the past time, Siam City Cement regularly connected with the Ministry of Construction and actively cooperated with the Vietnam Institute for Building Materials to deploy advanced technology applications in cement production, new products. Currently, Siam City Cement has completed the necessary procedures to conduct investment expansion in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh highly appreciated the results of cooperation and investment in the production of building materials in Vietnam, especially the cement factory project in Kien Giang province, contributing to stable provide cement and construction mortar for the Southern market, Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh overviewed the situation of cement production in Vietnam, recently the Ministry of Construction has conducted an overall assessment of cement production activities. The Ministry of Construction requested cement businesses to actively pay attention to improve technologies, protect the environment, make use of waste heat, and use waste as input materials in cement production.

Currently, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with localities to build a master plan on minerals as construction materials, including minerals used for cement production. Therefore, Siam City Cement should review and evaluate the source of raw materials in the process of expanding the cement production line in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh and General Director of Aidan John Lynam shared that cement production has been posed many challenges in terms of mineral resource exploitation, investment, production, and economical use of raw materials, fuel and energy. Effective solutions are necessary to overcome difficulties and challenges for the cement industry to develop sustainably and protect of the natural landscape and the environment.
