Addressing the conference, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue emphasised that the core task for Hanoi's urban planning, construction and development from 2021-2025 will be renovating the planning and management of Hanoi Urban Area development towards the formation of a smart and sustainable urban area.
Hue asked the Ministry of Construction to assist Hanoi in reviewing and adjusting the general planning on construction of the capital city, as well as other specialised plans, especially the rural development planning associated with urban development, and the planning along the banks of the Red River and Duong River to effectively exploit the land fund and solve urgent local issues in construction.
He also suggested the ministry to assist Hanoi in removing difficulties in the renovation of local old apartments and in the management, operation and use of new apartment buildings.
Six key measures to promote public investment disbursement in Hanoi
According to Nguyen Van Suu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, the capital city has disbursed 49.6% of the total public investment capital, worth over VND40.6 trillion, that has been assigned to the city by the Prime Minister for 2020.
The disbursement rate should reach 53% early next month as Hanoi plans to inaugurate some local key transport projects, including the Hoang Quoc Viet - Nguyen Van Huyen Intersection and the expansion of Ring Road no.3 from Mai Dich to Thang Long Bridge, on the occasion of National Day (September 2).
Targeting to disburse 100% of the assigned public investment capital for 2020, the capital city has implemented six key solutions to promote disbursement in the remaining months of the year, Suu informed.
Hanoi authorities also proposed the Government and the Ministries of Planning and Investment and Finance to assist in accessing foreign loans for construction of its key transport projects.
