Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh receives the National Director of KOICA office in Vietnam

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh welcomed and worked with the National Director of KOICA Office in Vietnam Cho Han-Deog on June 11th.

At the meeting, Mr. Cho Han-Deog expressed his pleasure to visit and work with the Ministry of Construction, and appreciated the results of COVID-19 disease prevention in Vietnam recently.

Mr. Cho Han-Deog emphasized the interest of the Korean Government and KOICA to support Vietnam in implementing programs and projects in the field of construction, urban development, smart cities and social housing.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh congratulated Mr Cho Han-Deog to be appointed as the new Country Director of KOICA Office in Vietnam, and believed that Mr Cho Han-Deog would be an important bridge in promoting the good cooperation between Ministry of Construction and KOICA in particular, between Vietnam and Korea in general.

On behalf of the Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh highly appreciated and thanked KOICA, the Korean Government to effectively support the Ministry of Construction in the following fields: making mechanisms and policies on infrastructure development, social housing and urban development planning; appointing experts to work at the Ministry of Construction; deploying the project "Technical assistance for green urban planning in Vietnam" for the period 6/2015 - 6/2018, the project "Technical assistance to build the overall social housing policy in Vietnam in the period 2021-2030 ”(to be implemented in the 11 / 2018-12 / 2020 period).

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh suggested that KOICA sooner considered to sponsor Vietnam in implementing the Technical Assistance Project for Research and Policy Development for Low-Cost Commercial Housing; coordinating and supporting the KSP Project proposal on “Support the building policies on development of land fund for social housing in Vietnam" of the Ministry of Construction and projects in the field of smart urban development.

At the end of meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh hopes that Mr Cho Han-Deog will have a lot of success during his tenure and the cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and KOICA in particular, Vietnam - South Korea in general will grow in further.
