Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung received and worked with Ms Lianys Torres Rivera - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam on December 26th. There were representatives of International Cooperation Department (under MoC), the Northern Food Corporation (Vinafood1) which is implementing rice supply contracts for Cuba at the meeting.

Cuban Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera gave an overview of Cuba's socio-economic situation in the past years and said that the year 2019 was a difficult year due to the tightening of embargo policies. In the coming time, Cuba Central Bank and Cuban Food Import and Export Corporation (Alimport) would come to Vietnam to negotiate with Vinafood 1 and related parties.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung congratulated and conveyed the Minister Pham Hong Ha’s congratulation to Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz and Cuban Minister of Construction Antonio Mesa Villafana to continue their position in the new structure of the Cuban Government led by the newly appointed Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz. Deputy Minister Hung hoped that the Cuban Government would have effective solutions to develop the country stability.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung also welcomed the delegation of the Central Bank of Cuba and the Cuban Food Import-Export Corporation to Vietnam and coordinated with Vinafood 1 Corporation to negotiate and seek solutions in payment and implement agreements committed between two parties.
