Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung met and worked with the Director of Territory and Sustainability Agency of Catalonia, Spain - Damià Calvet i Valera in presence of leaders of Departments and Agencies under the MoC, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Vietnam - María Jesús Figa López-Palop on November 12th at the MoC headquarters.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Hung warmly welcomed the Director of the Territory and Sustainability Agency of Catalonia, Spain Damià Calvet i Valera, the Ambassador of Spain to Vietnam María Jesús Figa Lopez-Palop to visit and work with the Vietnamese MoC.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung said that for many years, Vietnam and Spain have continuously paid attention to the development of the cooperative relation in many fields including those under the MoC’s management role.
According to Deputy Minister Hung, Vietnam faced with some difficulties and challenges in the field of urban development, housing development, construction management. He also expressed his wish to exchange experience and cooperation with Spain in general and Catalonia in particular in finding solutions to overcome.

Thanking Deputy Minister Hung for warmly welcome, Director Damià Calvet and Valera said that he came to Vietnam with Trade Promotion delegation of the Catalonia autonomous region, including representatives of the Port of Barcelona to establish partnerships between the Port of Barcelona and Ports of Vietnam as well as export and import businesses.
Director Damià Calvet i Valera said that the Catalonia Territory and Sustainability Agency has the function of territorial arrangement, urban development, housing management, infrastructure management and environmental management and sustainable development of Catalonia autonomous region towards the goal of sustainable development set by the United Nations.

The Catalonia autonomous region also has a specialized research institute on new construction materials as well as construction methods to ensure the sustainability of construction works and wishes to cooperate with the units under the MoC.
Speaking at the meeting, the Ambassador María Jesús Figa López-Palop said that, Spain also experienced the same difficulties as Vietnam in the field of the urban and housing development, construction activities management during the development of the country so that Spain was willing to share and help Vietnam in solving the difficulties and challenges in these areas.
