Deputy Minister Phan Thi My Linh receives leader of Asian Development Bank (ADB)

At the working session, Mr Norio Saito expressed his pleasure to work with leaders of MoC on the cooperation opportunities between ADB and MoC. On behalf of the ADB’s delegation, Mr Norio Saito thanked Deputy Minister Phan Thi My Linh and leaders of Departments and Agencies under MoC for warmly welcome.

According to Ms. Tatiana Gallego Lizon (Director of Urban Development and Water Division – ADB), ADB has closely cooperated with the Agency of Technical Infrastructure (MOC) in the field of water and sanitation sector. In addition, ADB has launched a technical assitance project for Urban Development Agency “Sustainable urban development and adaptation to climate change”.

ADB now is building a national cooperation program, and MoC can propose priority projects to be received ADB’s support in the field of water supply, sanitation and urban development - Ms Tatiana said - ADB also pays attention to reforms in Vietnam’s water sector and wants to cooperate with MoC in this field.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Phan Thi My Linh thanked ADB for the effective support and assistance for the MoC in investment projects and technical assistance in the technical infrastructure and urban development sector.

MoC has proposed ADB to support a number of projects in order of priority: technical assitance project for sewerage sludge management, urban climate change adaptation and resilience program.

According to Deputy Minister Phan Thi My Linh, ADB suggested cooperation contents in consistence with the role of MoC as a state management agency in the field of technical infrastructure and urban development. Deputy Minister Phan Thi My Linh also asked ADB to support the MoC in the process of making the Law of urban management and development in 2017.
