Until now, after more than 5 years applied, Vietnamese standard No 8256:2009 - Gypsum boards - Specifications, and Vietnamese standard No 8257:2009 - Gypsum boards - Test methods, are due to be reviewed, according to the law.
According to Mr. Olivier De Bayser, these standards has some rules which are no longer fit with reality in Vietnam, making it difficult for businesses to apply in their production, hence it's necessary to modify the terminologies and definitions in accordiance with current situation, extend the distance of nominal sizes and measurement of calculations in millimeters, yet ensure relatively high physical norms in accordiance with the greatest thickness in the range of size as regulated.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung sincerely thanked Mr. Olivier De Bayser and Saint - Gobain for their concerns and comments on policies related to the Construction Industry. Deputy Minister Hung informed that Ministry of Construction would assign those units and organizations under their direct management to consider and adjust the regulations of plaster to suit with actual requirements and the natural conditions of Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung desired Saint - Gobain Vietnam to pay attention and coordinate with the Ministry of Construction in researching and using plasler from wastes of the thermal power plants.
