Ha Noi (August 25th, 2015) - Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, accompanied by Deputy Minister Bui Pham Khanh and heads of the MOC’s functional departments and agencies, had a meeting with Minister of Laotian Ministry of Public Works and Transport Bounchanh SINTHAVONG about cooperation on training and developing human resources, sharing experiences in setting the construction prices.

At the meeting, Minister Trinh Dinh Dung briefly introduced about the MOC’s functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure. Minister Dung said that Vietnam and Laos had longtime friendly and traditional relations in various fields of economy, society, including the construction sector. In recent years, the Vietnam Ministry of Construction (MOC) has focused on training human resources for Laos by accepting Laotian staffs and students as trainees in Vietnam or sending Vietnamese experts to help Laos.

Minister Bounchanh SINTHAVONG desired the MOC to support the Laotian Ministry of Public Works and Transport in training human resources in the construction sector as well as sharing experiences about setting construction prices, and invited Minister Trinh Dinh Dung to visit and work with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Vientiane capital.

Receiving Minister Bounchanh SINTHAVONG’s invitation, Minister Trinh Dinh Dung promised to visit Laos whenever convenient. Minister Trinh Dinh Dung committed to send more working groups from the MOC’s functional departments and agencies to Laos in the future to exchange experiences with Laotian Ministry of Public Works and Transport and hoped this would be an annual activity of the two ministries. With 4 affiliated universities, the MOC is willing to award scholarships in training in construction, planning, technical infrastructure… to Laotian officials.
Minister Trinh Dinh Dung assigned the International Cooperation Department (MOC) to draft the Memo of Understanding (MoU) between the two ministries, and believed this mutual cooperation would enter a new development stage.
