The PM has issued a housing-support policy for poor households (based on Decision No. 167/2008/QĐ-TTg dated August 12th, 2008 on housing loan support) to help 311,000 poor households in rural areas.

The policy will be applied to households in rural and remote areas relying on agriculture, forestry and fisheries for living.
Priorities will be given to disadvantaged households, ethnic minorities and households living in areas facing frequent occurrence of natural disasters.
The maximum loan for each household is VND25 million with the interest rate of 3% per year and the grace of period of five years.
The Decision will take effect from October 1, 2015.
