Hanoi (July 17th, 2015) – Deputy Minister Pham Hong Ha and the MOC’s mission worked with the AMC on their activities in the first 6 months of 2015 and results of the Project “Training, improving capacity of leaders, managers and officials in Construction Industry in terms of construction investment and urban development” (named Project 1961).

Innovate operational regulations in order to meet new requirements

The AMC paid much attention to the student-based training and the training model sponsored by the WB. In the first 6 months of 2015, the AMC has edited the Project 1956’s documents, conducted research, applied technology, expanded international cooperation… As for the Project 1961, 4 sets of document (for subject No 4, 5, 7 and 8) were evaluated, approved and issued by the MOC; 2 sets of document for subject No 3 and 6 were submited to the MOC for approved; and 2 others (for subject No 1 and 2) are being completed. The AMC has held a conference getting opinions from experts on training the trainers courses for local provinces in the North, the South and the Central in the late of July, the beginning of August. However, according to Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoa – Head of the Construction Science and Technology Department (the MOC), the Project 1961’s progress did not live up to expectation, therefore needs innovating to meet new requirements.

Training is the AMC’s key task

Acknowledging the AMC’s role, Deputy Minister Pham Hong Ha suggested the AMC “pay much attention to training. Training is the top priority and the key task determining the success of the AMC”. He asked the Academy’s leaders to assign specific tasks for each positions.

Refering to the Project 1961, Deputy Minister Pham Hong Ha required the AMC to report and evaluate comprehensively its implementation. He said “Except for approving the Project’s programmes, all other activities would be stopped; focus on reviewing and reporting the Project’s results after 5 years”.
