Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center is honored to be awarded the "Building to welcome the Government Party Congress" sign

In the exciting atmosphere of competing to achieve achievements to welcome the 14th National Party Congress, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction solemnly held a ceremony to attach a plaque to the project to welcome the success of the 1st Government Party Congress, term 2025-2030, in Ho Chi Minh City, on November 11.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center (ATCC/HCM), a strategic flight control facility of the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), was honored to be selected, reported by the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction and appraised and recognized by the Government Party Committee as a project to welcome the 1st Government Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

This event is not only an honor for Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation but also a "significant milestone" in the series of activities of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction to welcome the 1st Government Party Congress. This is a particularly valuable recognition, a source of great encouragement and motivation for the efforts, endeavors and achievements of the collective of cadres, party members and employees of VATM.

At the ceremony, the delegates heard the announcement of the Government Party Committee's joint decision on recognizing 03 projects to welcome the Congress, including the VATM's ATCC/HCM Center and 02 key projects of the My Thuan Project Management Board.

In his directive speech at the event, the representative of the higher-level leadership emphasized that the recognition of ATCC/HCM as a project celebrating the Party Congress is ‘well-deserved acknowledgment’ of the efforts of the VATM collective. This is vivid evidence affirming the Party’s comprehensive leadership in directing the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks closely linked with strengthening national security and defense.

In the brief report on the project, Comrade Lê Hoàng Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Corporation, stated that the ATCC/HCM project is a specialized aviation facility with a total investment of 1.496 trillion VND. With a high level of political determination and the efforts of more than 160 personnel working on-site every day, construction was completed in just over 16 months. The project is a multifunctional air traffic management complex, responsible for en-route control for the entire Ho Chi Minh Flight Information Region (FIR/HCM), as well as approach control for four strategic airports: Tân Sơn Nhất, Long Thành, Phú Quốc, and Cần Thơ, along with a fully equipped backup system.

The project to manage the entire Ho Chi Minh Flight Information Region, a large airspace, including national sovereign airspace and most of the international airspace over the East Sea, is entrusted to Vietnam by the International Civil Aviation Organization to manage. Mastering the technology to safely operate this airspace has great significance in terms of politics, diplomacy, military and affirming national territorial sovereignty.

In addition, ATCC/HCM is also a "solid foundation" for the super project of Long Thanh International Airport. If the future Long Thanh Air Traffic Control Center is the "combat brain" commanding on-site operations, then ATCC/HCM is the strategic operating system for the entire region. This combination will create a solid, modern flight control network, the most advanced in the region, with the ability to back up each other.

The project is equipped with an advanced automated air traffic management system according to ICAO standards. New technologies will help reduce the workload of air traffic controllers and minimize human errors, while optimizing flight flows, saving fuel and reducing emissions.

On behalf of both VATM and My Thuan Project Management Board, comrade Le Hoang Minh expressed his great honor and emotion when receiving the Certificate and the plaque to welcome the Congress. This is a great source of encouragement and support for the efforts of both units.

Fully aware that this is a key infrastructure project and a ‘central political task,’ VATM is committed to promptly completing the installation of equipment as well as training and capacity-building efforts, in order to officially put the ATCC/HCM Center into Phase I operation starting from December 19, 2025.

During operation and exploitation, VATM will always place absolute safety as the top priority and maximize the efficiency of the facility’s capabilities, worthy of being a ‘model project’ in celebration of the 1st Congress of the Government Party Committee, term 2025-2030.
