On October 8th, 2025, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyễn Xuân Sang had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services of Saudi Arabia, Musa bin Ahmed Al-Barqi.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Musa bin Ahmed Al-Barqi expressed his pleasure at visiting and working with the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam. He was very impressed with Vietnam's comprehensive achievements in socio-economic development in recent years, especially in transportation and urban infrastructure sector.
Ahmed Al-Barqi emphasized that the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia has been continuously expanding, bringing practical benefits across various fields, especially in investment, trade, and logistics. He also expressed his desire for both sides to continue strengthening exchanges, sharing experiences, and promoting comprehensive cooperation in the coming time.

Recognizing Vietnam’s important position in the international maritime sector and its potential as a partner for Saudi Arabia in promoting regional cooperation, Musa bin Ahmed Al-Barqi proposed the establishment of a joint working group to discuss upcoming cooperation programs in transportation and logistics between the two countries. He also suggested enhancing exchanges and reaching an early consensus on seafarers' professional certification to facilitate collaboration between maritime enterprises of both nations.
“Saudi Arabia is ready to serve as a gateway for Vietnamese goods to enter the West Asian market”, affirmed Deputy Minister Musa bin Ahmed Al-Barqi.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Xuân Sang welcomed Deputy Minister Musa bin Ahmed Al-Barqi and the delegation to visit and work with the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam.
Sang expressed strong agreement with Saudi Arabia’s proposal to establish a joint working group to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics. He also supported taking preparatory steps toward signing an Agreement on the Recognition of Seafarers’ Certificates in accordance with the STCW International Convention, as well as a Bilateral Maritime Transport Agreement, with the aim of creating a favorable legal framework for enterprises of both countries to enhance cooperation, investment, and sustainable development.

"The Ministry of Construction encourages both sides to strengthen the exchange of experience in developing green ports and sustainable logistics, and to continue close coordination and mutual support at international forums such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), thereby contributing to reinforcing the position and common voice of both countries in the region and on the international arena," Sang emphasized.
