Deputy Minister Bui Hong Minh worked with the Korean National Assembly Delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee Choi In – Ho on November 2nd.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Choi In - Ho highly appreciated the friendly cooperation between Korea and Vietnam over the past years. Especially in December 2022, the two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership that brought the cooperation between the Governments and people of the two countries to new heights.
Recently, Vietnam and Korea have promoted cooperation in the fields of land, infrastructure and transportation, environment, and smart cities. In particular, the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea have coordinated to establish the Vietnam - Korea Cooperation Center on smart urban areas and construction technology. This is an important event in bilateral cooperation and the Korean National Assembly is ready to cooperate and support the Ministry of Construction in maximizing the effectiveness of this Center.

In addition, Mr. Choi In - Ho said that the Korean National Assembly was always ready to cooperate with Vietnam in building and perfecting legal policies on housing that Korea has a lot of experience and in the context of Vietnam is amending and supplementing the Housing Law.

At the meeting, a representative of Korea's LH Corporation in Vietnam informed about the Corporation's cooperation projects with a number of localities on construction and development of industrial parks and new urban areas, and also expressed his desire to increase the exchange and sharing of experiences in the field of housing development with the Ministry of Construction, in order to contribute to further promoting the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Construction and the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Deputy Minister Bui Hong Minh highly appreciated Korea's experience in the field of urban development and housing, and believed that Korea's experiences would contribute to helping Vietnam in developing and improving policies in these areas.
According to Deputy Minister Bui Hong Minh, for a developing country like Vietnam, each urban area needs to have a strict structure and a long-term development vision. Therefore, Vietnam needs to summarize the experience of Korea as well as countries around the world in terms of development scale and urban structure toward sustainable development of urban areas.

Deputy Minister Bui Hong Minh assessed the cooperation to launch the Vietnam – Korea Cooperation Center on smart cities and construction technology which helps the MoC in closer and more effective state management. The two parties need to plan and progress each specific task and implement a monthly and quarterly reporting regime to unit leaders for summarizing and evaluating work results.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Hong Minh and Mr. Choi In - Ho expressed their desire to further strengthen the exchange and sharing of experiences between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and LH Corporation, the Korean National Assembly and other Korean partners.
