ASEAN Ceramics Expo 2023 - future orientation of ASEAN ceramic industry

MMI Asia (Asian subsidiary of Messe München GmbH) in collaboration with Vietnamese partners held a press conference to introduce ASEAN Ceramics Expo 2023 on July 28th. Representatives of the Ministry of Construction; leaders of professional associations and a large number of reporters from central and Hanoi press agencies attended the conference.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the 7th ASEAN Ceramics 2023 will be held at the International Exhibition Center in Hanoi from November 28-30, 2023, with more than 200 companies and brands exhibiting their products; is expected to attract more than 3,000 commercial visitors in the three days of the event.

ASEAN Ceramics 2023 is sponsored by the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and domestic and foreign trade associations. With the theme "Building a sustainable, innovative and green future that improves efficiency through digitization, automation, use of alternative fuels, energy recovery, reduction and reuse waste”, ASEAN Ceramics 2023 will emphasize sustainability and technological advancements to promote the development of the ceramic industry, trade cooperation, technical exchange and technology investment to improve quality standards of ceramics in meeting all requirements of the international market.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Building Materials (under the MoC) Nguyen Huu Tho assessed that ASEAN Ceramics 2023 is an important event of the ceramic industry, which promotes innovation, cooperation and development. This event makes an important contribution to the future orientation of the ceramic industry in the ASEAN region in general and Vietnam in particular.

At the press conference, Mr. Michael Wilton - CEO and Managing Director of MMI Asia said that the ceramic industry in Southeast Asia holds great opportunities to export to the APAC, US and European markets.

Mr. Dinh Quang Huy - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Ceramics Association said that in the past 10 years, the Southeast Asian ceramic production has rapidly grown to become one of the most vibrantly developed regions in the world. Particularly in Vietnam, the current capacity of ceramic tiles is over 800 million m2/year, sanitary ware reaches 24 million products/year along with household ceramics and other ceramic products, in the Top 10 the world's leading ceramic producer. According to Mr. Dinh Quang Huy, ASEAN Ceramics has gradually affirmed its prestige in the chain of events of the ceramic industry in Southeast Asia and the world in term of scale, products and visitors.
