At the meeting, General Director Kim Jin Myeong highly appreciated the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Korea, and said that the visit to Vietnam from June 22-24, 2023 by the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol with the participation of a large number of Korean businesses and large corporations would open a new opportunity in the cooperation relationship between the two countries.
Over the past time, Korean agencies have promoted cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction in the field of urban development, housing and implement Project under the Knowledge Sharing Program to achieve many positive results. General Director Kim Jin Myeong hoped that the two sides would be interested in promoting cooperation in the application of BIM and digital transformation in construction and flood prevention which the areas Korea has effectively applied from many countries and gained a lot of valuable experience.
At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van thanked the Korean Government, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance for supporting and helping the Ministry of Construction to implement ODA technical assistance projects and Knowledge Sharing Program in planning, housing and urban development. Projects and support programs of the Korean Government have helped the Ministry of Construction to develop and perfect legal policies of the industry, promote cooperation and exchange of expertise between the Ministry of Construction and Korean partners in general and promote investment and trade cooperation between construction enterprises of the two countries in particular.
About the project "Application of digital technology in the construction industry in Vietnam" has been approving by the Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance to sponsor the Institute of Construction Economics within the framework of the Knowledge Sharing Program for the period 2022-2023, the Ministry of Construction has assigned the Financial Planning Department to act as a focal point and coordinate with the Department of International Cooperation and the Institute of Construction Economics to speed up the implementation of project appraisal and approval procedures.
Regarding the application of BIM, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van said that recently, the Prime Minister of Vietnam has approved the Roadmap to apply BIM in construction activities. The Ministry of Construction hopes that the Korean partners share BIM application experience to help Vietnam in improving the application of this model. Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van also hopes that the Korean Government will continue to maintain training programs for managers in urban development, technical infrastructure development, and create bridges to promote professional cooperation between the two sides.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van emphasized that the Ministry of Construction always encouraged and created favorable conditions for the Korean partners and businesses to participate in housing development investment projects, especially social housing, smart and green urban, green industrial park, technical infrastructure..., contributing to the further development of the cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Construction and the Korean partners and businesses in particular, between the Governments of the two countries in general.
