Nepal Government delegation works with the Ministry of Construction

The Nepal Government delegation including representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and the Ministry of Finance visited and worked with the MoC. Director of Science, Technology and Environment Department (under the MoC), Assoc. Vu Ngoc Anh warmly welcomed the delegation. 

The whole working session

There were Mr Nguyen Cong Thinh – Deputy Director of Science, Technology and Environment Department; Ms Hoang Thi Kim Cuc - Project Manager of Improving Energy Efficiency in commercial buildings and condominiums in Vietnam (EECB – MoC); representatives of International Cooperation Department, Information Centre at the working session.

On behalf of the delegation, Nidhi Raj Neupane - Nepal Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said that Nepal is currently in the process of drafting a Law on Energy Efficiency and hopes to study Vietnam’s experience in developing the Law on Energy Efficiency and relating policies; difficulties in human and financial resources to support the process of law making; Vietnam's policies on energy efficiency in the construction sector...

At the meeting, Director Vu Ngoc Anh shortly introduced the process of developing and implementing Vietnam’s Law on Energy Efficiency; National Programs on Energy Efficiency; Project of Improving Energy Efficiency in commercial buildings and condominiums in Vietnam (EECB) funded by GEF/ UNDP.

Mr Nguyen Cong Thinh and Ms Hoang Thi Kim Cuc shared experiences on mobilizing financial and technical support of international organizations; integrating regulations on energy efficiency in specialized Laws; roadmap from encouraging to compulsory application of regulations on energy efficiency; completing the system of standards on energy efficiency in buildings and condominiums; training and capacity building for stakeholders to implement national technical regulations on construction works using energy efficiently, pilot models of energy efficient works; regulations on energy labeling...

Mr Nidhi Raj thanked for the warmly welcome of the MoC, valuable experiences shared in the working session and hoped to receive the assistance of the MoC in the future.
