Conference launching the Project "Improve capacity in cost estimation, contract, quality and safety management in construction investment projects"

Hanoi (June 11th, 2015) - The Ministry of Construction coworked with JICA Vietnam to hold the conference launching the Project "Improve capacity in cost estimation, contract, quality and safety management in construction investment projects". Deputy Minister Bui Pham Khanh and Vice Representative of JICA VietnamKenichi Yamamoto co-host the conference which were attended by the Japanese Embassador in Vietnam, JICA Vietnam officials, representatives of the MOC’s functional departments and agencies as well as many partners of the Project.

Opening the conference, Deputy Minister Bui Pham Khanh said with great mutual effort, Vietnam and Japanese had the MoU for the Project. During this conference launching the Project, the two sides would further discuss to come to agreement on some distinguished points in the Project draft, and to implement the MoU content.

Representatives of some units from Vietnam side offered their proposals on the Project progress to make it suitable to the real situation, choosing situational projects to study as many output contents of the Project as possible at the same time.

JICA Vietnam's representative proposed the MOC to select some partners from Vietnam to co-study with Japanese experts in this Project.

After agreeing to approve the Project draft during this conference, the two sides will cooperate to complete all required preparation works to implement the Project as planned.

The Project "Improve capacity in cost estimation, contract, quality and safety management in construction investment projects" which is supported technically by JICA will be implemented from 4/2015 to 3/2018.
