During the field inspection of Long Thanh International Airport and working with relevant parties, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha requested to continually accelerate construction, soon complete the technical flight scenario and organize the event on December 19th.
On December 4th, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha, Permanent Vice Chairman of the State Inspection Council on construction acceptance work, and relevant agencies worked with investors and localities on the progress of implementing component projects at Long Thanh International Airport, and reviewed preparations for the event of simultaneously starting construction and inaugurating projects to welcome the 14th National Congress of Delegates on December 19th. Previously, on the afternoon of December 3rd, the Deputy Minister directly inspected the field of 4 component projects of the airport.

According to the report, component project 1 which includes the headquarters for customs, immigration, animal and plant quarantine, and the aviation authority has basically been completed. Contractors are currently focusing on finishing works, installing equipment and interiors, and improving the landscape to ensure that all facilities have a complete appearance before December 19th.
For component project 4, which includes in-flight catering facilities, aircraft maintenance hangars, and ground service structures, construction progress is being accelerated and has achieved positive results.
For component project 2, the appearance of the air traffic control tower, the VIP building, the operations building, and the technical building has now taken clear shape. Contractors are accelerating the finishing works, striving to meet the schedule for the event on December 19th.

Nguyen Cong Long, Director General of the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, said that preparations for personnel serving Long Thanh Airport have been completed.
The team of officers and technicians has been thoroughly trained and is ready to take on their duties. Safety and security requirements are given top priority. The unit has established three specialized groups operations, technical, and safety, security to conduct self-assessments and promptly adjust operational plans. Multiple independent systems have also been prepared to proactively respond to various situations, ensuring the provision of safe services under all scenarios.
According to Dao Xuan Hoach, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, a detailed technical flight scenario has been developed. Long Thanh Airport can accommodate four parking positions, allowing a maximum of four aircraft to be served simultaneously. Preparations have been initiated early and are ready for implementation. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has also approved the flight procedures and is continuing to evaluate the navigation equipment and systems at the airport.

Concluding the working session, Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha highly appreciated the efforts of the investors and contractors in accelerating construction and speeding up the project’s progress. The Deputy Minister emphasized that developing the technical flight scenario and organizing the December 19th event is particularly important, requiring close coordination among the component projects at Long Thanh International Airport.
The Deputy Minister asked the investors to continually review and comprehensively compile all difficulties and obstacles in order to promptly report them and propose solutions to the relevant authorities. At the same time, he urged the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to soon finalize the technical flight scenario and the event organization plan for submission to the competent authorities for approval.

Earlier, Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha, together with the working delegation, conducted a site inspection at Long Thanh Airport.
At the same time, landscaping and environmental sanitation work, especially in areas where delegations will visit, must be carried out neatly and orderly to ensure the overall image of this key national project.
It is noted that Long Thanh Airport has been chosen as the central venue for the inauguration and groundbreaking of large-scale projects, serving as a significant event to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Long Thanh Airport is a national key project, with an area of 5,000 hectares built in Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province.
When put into operation, Long Thanh Airport will be a new growth pole of the Southern key economic region. This will be a strategic lever to restructure the regional economy, upgrade logistics - export capacity, develop airport urban areas, create large-scale jobs and affirm Vietnam's position on the international aviation map to participate more deeply in the global value chain.
