Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi received the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Vietnam

Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting and working session with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (Venezuela) to Vietnam Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez on April 1st.

At the meeting, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez said that Vietnam and Venezuela have a good political and diplomatic relationship. In December 2024, the two countries will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and on this occasion, Venezuela is honored to welcome a delegation of high-ranking leaders of the Vietnamese State led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang to visit and work.

Venezuela focused on developing social housing for people.  Over the past decades, Venezuela has built more than 4 million social housing apartments and may build another 5 million in the near future. To achieve this goal, Venezuela wants to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam. In addition, the two sides can expand cooperation in other fields and industries with the participation of the Ministry of Construction such as infrastructure development for tourism and other fields, said Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez.

Venezuela has abundant resources, a favorable climate, and a rich source of materials for cement production and metallurgy... In addition, Venezuela has a strategic location in Central America and South America. Recently, Venezuela established five special economic zones. In these special economic zones, foreign businesses, especially Vietnamese businesses, can open factories, build headquarters to produce raw materials as well as develop their business activities throughout the area.

Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez emphasized that the Venezuelan Embassy to Vietnam is always ready to be a bridge for cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and Venezuelan agencies and partners.

Appreciating the results Venezuela has achieved in social housing development, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that in Vietnam, the Government and Prime Minister also paid attention to housing especially social housing for people and focused on implementing the Project to build 1 million social housing apartments from now to 2030. Therefore, Vietnam wants to exchange and share experiences with Venezuela in social housing development as well as in fields related to the Construction industry and infrastructure development of tourist areas.

According to Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, during the upcoming business trip to Venezuela (with the delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang), the Ministry of Construction really wants to work with the Housing Ministry of Venezuela to strengthen cooperative relations between the two ministries and promote the expansion of production and business activities of Vietnamese construction enterprises in Venezuela.

Agreeing with the cooperation proposals of Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi assigned the Department of International Cooperation to be the focal point of the Ministry of Construction to contact and exchange with the Venezuelan Embassy to Vietnam on the cooperation content between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and Bolivarian Venezuelan agencies and partners in the coming time.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi hopes that the Venezuelan Embassy to Vietnam will continually pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Ministry of Construction and Venezuelan partners to exchange and expand cooperation, contributing to further promoting cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and Venezuela.
