Regarding bilateral cooperation in the field of construction, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of construction that the two Ministers signed in April 2023 within the framework of the official visit to Cuba of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, led by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Vietnam's Ministry of Construction is ready to share information and experience in State management of the construction industry, especially in the fields of housing and urban development and investment management, construction materials development.

Regarding the implementation of cooperation agreements between construction enterprises of the two countries within the framework of the Intergovernmental Committee, according to the 40th mid-term review report, enterprises of both sides have made efforts to strengthen cooperative activities and achieve positive results. For investment projects in Cuba of Viglacera Corporation and Thai Binh Company, production and business activities have been maintained to contribute to providing goods to the Cuban market and creating jobs for officials and employees.

In addition to the achieved results, the SanVig joint venture project in Cuba still faces many difficulties in production because Cuban banks cannot arrange foreign currency to import raw materials and fuel for production. Gas and electricity supply is still unstable to affect the operating productivity of the floor tile factory and sanitary ware factory.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi requested Minister Rene Mesa Villafana to pay attention and direct relevant Cuban agencies to prioritize solving the difficulties of the SanVig joint venture, creating favorable conditions for businesses, ensuring operating at 90% of the new factory’s design capacity.

Regarding Dinvai Company's activities in Vietnam, HUD Corporation and Vietnam Coninco Company have created conditions for Vietnam Dinvai Company to participate in providing construction supervision consulting services for a number of projects in Vietnam. The Minister will direct businesses HUD, Coninco, and Viglacera to pay attention to creating more favorable conditions for Dinvai in the near future.
