Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi receives Mr. Jaya Ratnam - New Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam sincerely thanked Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi for warmly welcome and highly appreciated the strategic partnership relationship Vietnam – Singapore over the past time. Mr Jaya Ratnam also wished that two sides stepped up cooperation in the fields of state management of the Ministry of Construction, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries and the 10th anniversary of upgrading relation to the strategic partner, and 25 years of establishment of the first Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park in Vietnam.
Two years ago, Singapore established the Asian Infrastructure Agency in order to promote cooperation, provide financial solutions and expertise to Asian countries. According to the Ambassador, the Asian Infrastructure Agency is very willing to establish the cooperative relation with the Ministry of Construction in the fields of 2 parties of mutual interest.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his delight at the development of the Vietnam - Singapore strategic partnership in many fields. Up to now, many Singaporean investors and enterprises have cooperated and invested in Vietnam; Vietnam - Singapore industrial parks in many localities have become symbols of the Vietnam - Singapore economic cooperation model.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi thanked Singapore Government for training Vietnamese management staff in general and Construction industry management staff in particular. Ministry of Construction always maintained the good cooperation relationship with the Embassy as well as with the Singapore Ministry of National Development and created conditions for Singaporean investors to invest in housing development projects, urban areas, technical infrastructure, especially in urban areas of regional scale in Vietnam.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi asked Singaporean partners to continually cooperate and share experiences with the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam in building mechanisms, policies and laws on management of urban development, technical infrastructure and housing, the real estate market, especially social housing development programs, rental housing and renovation of old apartments; support the training of Vietnamese state managers in urban planning and development, urban technical infrastructure, house; encourage and create conditions for enterprises of two sides to cooperate in the field of urban planning, consulting and construction investment in Vietnam.
At the end of the working session, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi wished the new Ambassador Jaya Ratnam to best fulfill the assigned tasks, contribute to promote the cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and Singaporean partners as well as the cooperation between Governments of two countries in the near future.
