The northern province of Phu Tho is focusing on implementing 10 key projects across diverse areas in order to leverage local socio-economic development.

The projects include a National Highway 32 section connecting Phong Chau Bridge and Viet Tri city; the second phase of Au Co Street; transport projects connecting provincial roads with the National Highway; the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway; the Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho Expressway; a road connecting with Hoa Binh Province; and a Ho Chi Minh Road section connecting Phu Tho’s Tam Nong District and Xuan Mai townlet, Hanoi’s Chuong My District; among others.
Phu Tho currently has 904 investment projects approved with total capital of more than VND45.85 trillion (US$1.99 billion), 203 of which have been identified as key projects that require great efforts to remove difficulties and accelerate the progress in the coming time.
According to the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment, Phu Tho is carrying out many measures to mobilise investment resources for the development of synchronous infrastructure to implement key projects and create impetus for economic growth.
In the immediate future, the province will focus on removing obstacles, especially “bottlenecks” in land clearance, in order to speed up progress for the 10 key projects in 2021. The provincial steering committee for key projects has also conducted inspections and supervision to alleviate difficulties arising in the implementation of projects.
Thanks to such drastic efforts, many key projects in Phu Tho has been put into operation, boosting local socio-economic development. Meanwhile, the progress of some other projects is also being accelerated.
In the first seven months of 2021, Phu Tho has seen 30 projects, including five foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, completed and put into operation, with an estimated disbursement of VND1.63 trillion. The province has established steering committees on key projects at provincial and district levels to strengthen inspection and supervision as well as remove difficulties arising during project implementation.
