Vietnam – Japan business forum for energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam cooperated with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan to organize the Vietnam - Japan Business Forum for energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy on March 17^th with the participant of experts, international guests, representatives of enterprises operating in the field of energy saving and renewable energy of Vietnam and Japan.

Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu Deputy Director General, Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development, MOIT, Vietnam said that: “To ensure energy security, the Government of Vietnam has been implementing synchronous solutions, including both developing new sustainable energy sources and while saving energy in all activities of life and economy, society. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is the focal point for the implementation of the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy for the period 2019 – 2030. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has been coordinating with all levels and sectors to implement many measures to achieve targets on energy saving; including solutions for policies, finance, communication, awareness raising, capacity building, applying new and advanced technologies and gradually eliminating energy consumable technologies causing environmental pollution.

Mr. Masaomi Koyama – General Director, Director of State-owned Enterprise Division (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan) emphasized the good cooperation between the two governments in general and the two ministries in particular in the field of economy and energy. Mr. Masaomi Koyama said that Japan was strongly developing technology to store energy, gas, integrated energy solutions and save energy in the industrial sector. Japanese experts had introduced advanced technologies such as waste electricity generation, heat pumps, high efficiency boilers and energy-saving building materials and also wanted to expand cooperate with Vietnam partners.

The forum was organized into 3 sessions with contents around the topic of energy saving and renewable energy such as: improving energy efficiency for the electricity industry and manufacturing enterprises; waste electricity technology; using heat, high efficiency boilers and other technologies. At the discussion sessions, business representatives of the two countries discussed many issues: current energy trends and potential for energy saving in Vietnam; energy storage sodium sulfur battery system; reduce energy consumption by using natural gas; energy recovery and conversion waste treatment system to reduce CO2 emissions; innovative building envelope technology in non-energy buildings and smart cities ...

Vietnam - Japan Business Forum on energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy is an opportunity for stakeholders and businesses of the two countries to share experiences and exchange information on advanced technologies in this field; helping to strengthen technological cooperation between the two countries in the energy field; contributing to promoting the application of new technologies with high energy efficiency, reducing environmental pollution in Vietnam.
